“In 2050 a mysterious pathogen makes people begin to lose cognitive function and emotional stability when they do not have contact with other humans. Your job is to help people have the right amount of meaningful interpersonal connection to ensure they are immune from the virus.”

What does 2050 look like?
Cities prioritise cyclist and pedestrian access
People live in smaller, modular housing or shared housing
Work continues to move away from the office
Stronger, more connected communities
Nature is increasingly integrated with architecture
Worse air pollution and more extreme weather events
The Outcome
In our world, work only occurs Mon-Thu, and Friday is ‘Hobby Day’ where everyone is mandated to spend at least 1 hour doing an activity of their choice in a group to ensure social interaction. Shared housing is more common to increase unplanned interactions, and co-working spaces are popular and set up to encourage connection. Holistically our solution culminates in the idea of living more rounded, fulfilling and connected lives. The interactions in the visualisation reveal the dynamic relationships, tensions and complexities of the world.
My Contribution
